My First Choice of Hotel Every Time"
Whenever I am on business in Scotland, whether this is in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Stirling, I always try and stay here. The staff are most friendly and welcoming, the accomodation is first class (especially if you get one of the older rooms with the four poster); the food is excellent, both in the main dining room and the attached steak house. I stay here for all these reasons an, if I have to be away from home, there's nowhere else I would feel so relaxed and comfortable - sets me up for the business of the day - and did I mention the range of malt whiskies in the bar, resplendent with Stags head and (in winter at least) roaring log fire?

"Great food and place to wind down"
OK so this place is not 5 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh, but a 25 minute drive from the centre of Edinburgh and £6 to park your car who cares? There is also a train station 5 miutes away if you do not want to drive.
It is a perfect place to unwind after a day shopping or sightseeing with excellent leisure facilities which are free. There is also treatment rooms if you want to pamper yourself.
The food is excellent. Breakfast is enough for lunch as well! I asked for haddock and that was sufficient as a main course for an evening meal.
The restuarant is not cheap but is first class. I ate at the steakhouse (which is incidentally only open Tue-Sat) and thoroughly enjoyed the steak. The food is uncomplicated but delicious.

"Lovely Hotel"
I live only a couple of miles from this hotel. It's important to note that the hotel is not in Edinburgh. It is further out in the countryside, in a small town but not in the middle of nowhere as previously stated!
The centre of Edinburgh is only around a 25 minute drive, not difficult to find as it's practically a straight road! The train station is only 5 minutes from the hotel and the main bus line into Edinburgh runs right outside.
Perfect hotel with golf course etc and a great location for exploring the many beautiful sights that Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland has to offer!
